Hull design proposal for MSC Euribia inspired by marine ecosystem.

Key notes:
Design should be visible from afar clearly
Only solid color blocks (no shading or gradient)
No more than sixteen color codes overall
Hull size – 331mt x 15mt

Main ideaOceans are full of patterns

My main inspiration for this design comes from observation of marine life, where I have noticed that various patterns are a big part of underwater life visuals. There are everywhere: water surface, sand texture and seafloor, corals, fish and their coloring and scales, seashells, starfish.

To represent marine life through my design I created few patterns that were inspired by coral reefs, water surface and fish coloring and implemented them into design.

The front of the hull has a pattern that was based on brain coral, common name given to various corals in the families Mussidae and Merulinidae. These corals are found in all the world's oceans. Other patterns with organic shapes in my design are more abstract representation of water surface and other corals. I used limited color palette to create stronger and more pleasant visuals.

Second essential element in my design is sea creatures which are placed along the whole design. I chose mantra rays, blue whale, sperm whale and sea turtle. They are highly recognizable, and they represent all the endangered species in our oceans and seas.
